Croydon Astronomical Society
Croydon Astronomical Society, Waterhouse Lane, off Hayes Lane, Kenley.
Postcode CR8 5EP will get you close but there is no specific postcode for it.
The London Loop long distance footpath passes though our site to the East of the buildings.
The Croydon Astronomical Society is an educational charity which was set up in 1956 to encourage and support the enjoyment and study of the night sky.
We run talks, typically two a month, and operate our own observatory which is open September through to May every clear Saturday evening. Both these are free for the public to attend, you don’t have to book just turn up. We have never had a membership fee either but operate entirely on donations (financial, time or skills) from the public and members.
The observatory can be booked for school visits, youth or church groups, U3A, etc and as this can be at a time of their choosing we do apply a small fee for this. We also have a number of STEM Ambassadors who are happy to come out to talk or run observing events at outside venues. Further details can be found on our website Croydonastro.org.uk.
