Open House at the Royal Astronomical Society 2023

We are delighted to welcome visitors to the Royal Astronomical Society during the Open House festival. We will be open all day on Saturday 16th September for pre-booked guided tours and children's activities.

Open House Tours (booking required):

On Saturday 16 September, pre-booked tours are scheduled for 10:00, 10:30, 11:30, 11:30, 12:00, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00,15:30, 16:00 and 16:30. Please book via the Open House Festival website.

Children's Activities (booking required):

This year children's science activities will be taking place in our Lecture Theatre on Saturday 17 September. Sessions will be running at 10:15, 11:15, 14:15 and 15:15. 

These sessions need to be pre-booked via the Open House Festival website. Places are limited to 20 children per session, and children must be accompanied by an adult (up to two adults per child).

Learn about comets, stars, constellations, and our Founders the Herschels themselves! There may also be an encounter with astronomer Caroline Herschel!

Other learned societies based at Burlington House are also participating in Open House London 2022 on Friday 15 or Saturday 16 September, and will each provide access to areas which are not normally accessible to visitors.
